MESTSULFURON METHYL 20% WP

Weeds are a major cause of low yield of crops. Typology of weed, target crop & time of application are some of the factors governing selection of weedicide.
Wheat, Paddy (Transplanted) and Sugarcane are narrow leaf crops and are impacted by various weeds namely: Chenopodium Album, Melilotus Indica, Melilotus Alba, Lathyrus Aphaca, Anagallis Arvensis, Vicia Sativa, Vicia Hirsura, Circium Arvensis, Cyperus Rotundus, Luwigia sp. Sphenochlea sp., Commelina Benghalensis, Caesulia Axillaris, Fimbristylis, Zeylancia, Cyperus Esculentus, Amaranthus Virdis, Portulaca Oleracea, Parthenium Hysterophorus, Trianthema sp, Cleome Viscosa, Solanum sp, Euphorbia sp, Digiteris sp.

Description

MODE OF ACTION

ripper is an ALS herbicide i.e. it acts as an Acetolactate Synthase (ALS) inhibitor. By hindering the synthesis of branched-chain amino acids namely valine, leucine and isoleucine; it obstructs the weed’s growth ultimately killing it. It has good rain-fastness even after 4 hrs of application. In soil, it sustains for few days only and has half life period with no effect on the following crops. Being a broad leaf weedicide, extreme care must be taken to avoid damage by drift onto broad leaf crops nearby.

By being compatible with almost all commonly used herbicides, it is a preferred choice of most farmers.
